All Glory, Laud and Honor
All Glory, Laud and Honor Hymn (PDF)
Also available arranged for Choir, Piano, Organ and Optional Strings
Text by Theodulph of Orleans : Translated by John M. Neale
Music by Gustav Holst (Thaxted)
Paired by M Ryan Taylor
All glory, laud and honor to the Redeemer king!
To whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring!
Thou art the King of Israel, thou David’s royal Son,
Who in the Lord’s name comest, the King and Blessed One.
All glory, laud and honor to the Redeemer king!
To whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring!
The company of angels are praising thee on high,
And mortal men and all things created make reply.
The people of the Hebrews with palms before thee went;
Our praise and love and anthems before thee we present.
All glory, laud and honor to the Redeemer king!
To whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring!
To thee, before thy passion, they sang their hymns of praise;
To thee now high exalted, our melody we raise.
Thou didst accept their praises; accept the love we bring,
Who in all good delightest, thou good and gracious King.
All glory, laud and honor to the Redeemer king!
To whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring!
Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
This hymn was in our old hymnbook but was somehow overlooked for the new edition. I’m including it here with one slight change in the lyric, ‘raise my Ebenezer’ to ‘raise my song of gladness’ (for the fact that most people don’t know what an ‘Ebenezer’ is anymore). Enjoy!
Refine Us, Lord, Like Silver
Words and Music by M Ryan Taylor
See Malachi 3:3
Refine us, Lord, like silver;
burn all our dross away,
’til we re flect Thine image,
it’s brighter, purer ray.
Refine us, Lord, like silver,
that we might share Thy light
to guide the weary seeker
to respite from the night.
Refine us, Lord, like silver,
and form us by Thy hand
as cups to bear Thy blessings
to ev’ry race and land.
Refine us, Lord, like silver,
as vessels of Thy life
to bear the balm of healing,
and free the world of strife.
Rise Up Saints in Joy and Gladness
Rise Up Saints in Joy and Gladness : Hymn (PDF)
Words and Music by M Ryan Taylor
Rise up saints in joy and gladness,
Lift your voice in prayer and praise;
Grant the Lord your heart’s thanksgiving,
Thank Him for His love and grace.
Alleluia, Alleluia,
Think on what our God has done,
Alleluia, Alleluia,
Sending His beloved Son.
Only He could bear the burden,
Only He could take our pain,
Only He could tread the wine-press,
Sweating drops of blood like rain.
Alleluia, Alleluia,
Think on what our God has done,
Alleluia, Alleluia,
Sending His beloved Son.
Praise Him for His tender mercies,
Praise Him for His healing voice,
Praise and honor, adoration,
He has made our hearts rejoice!
Alleluia, Alleluia,
Think on what our God has done,
Alleluia, Alleluia,
Sending His beloved Son.
The Fruit is Sweet
The Fruit is Sweet : Hymn (PDF)
Also available arranged for Mixed Choir and Piano
Words and Music by M Ryan Taylor
The fruit is sweet. Come taste and see and glorify the Lamb,
For Priesthood keys of faith and love are now restored to man.
Come hear His voice, come hear His word through prophets called again,
Apostles sent to testify and bless the race of men.
The fruit is sweet. Come enter in and make your pathway straight;
Through water follow Christ our Lord, the Keeper of the gate.
All pure and bright, come feel the hands of faith laid on your head;
Accept the Holy Spirit’s gift and by his fire be led.
The fruit is sweet, come, let us rise and go of one accord
To stand and serve on holy ground, the mountain of the Lord.
Come, be endowed with strength and faith. Come, covenant to be true.
Come, enter in and seal yourselves to loved ones old and new.
The love of God is manifest in fruit so white and fair;
The more we feast upon His gifts the more we want to share;
So bless the child, annoint the sick, go spread His word abroad,
And praise the Lamb for sending us the Priesthood of our God.
The King of Love
The King of Love : Hymn (PDF)
Words by Henry Baker (1868)
Tune from The Southern Harmony (1835)
arr. M. Ryan Taylor
The King of Love my shep-herd is
whose goodness faileth never;
I nothing lack if I am His,
and He is mine forever.
Where streams of living water flow,
my ransomed soul he leadeth,
and where the verdant pastures grow,
with food celestial feedeth.
How oft in foolish paths I’ve strayed,
yet in His Love He sought me,
and on His shoulder gently laid,
and home, rejoicing brought me.
And so through all the length of days
thy goodness faileth never:
Good Shepherd, may I sing thy praise,
within thy house forever.
