CHORUSICALS (Mini-Musicals for 2-part Choirs)
I wrote these when I was directing the American Fork Children’s Choir (later to become Timpanogos Youth Choirs).
- Pickles Finds a Home (Pickles, the Skateboarding Dog) for unison choir with optional soloists and minus track by M. Ryan Taylor | Pickles MINUS TRACK | LIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO | STORYBOOK VIDEO (if you’re interested in using this storybook video illustrated with Lego bricks in a performance, please contact ryan@choirworks.com). A new mini-musical for unison choir: Pickles is looking to find a new home. Will he find one with a family of squirrels, amongst a clan of waterfowl, or will he find someone that truly understands a life on wheels? Also, check out the book, written and illustrated with LEGO® bricks by M. Ryan Taylor and his son Taavi Taylor.
- The Sand and the Sea : What would happen if the Sand and the Sea had a fight? Penguins, crabs, pelicans and children don’t know what to do. Will the hearts of the two elemental entities be softened by their plight? Note: The choral score omits introductory measures of rest. Please use the LIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO as a reference for entrances. IMPORTANT: This package contains performance files, including printable & projectable scores, minus tracks in both WAV & MP3 formats as well as artwork that can be used to make posters or flyers.
- Shepherds & Angels SIng : A Nativity Program for 2 or More Voices. INCLUDES sheet music (projectable or printable pdf), minus tracks (CD quality wav files), minus video (1080p video of a beautiful synchronized slide show) and full demos (wav and video).This ‘chorusical’ (musical for choir), is appropriate for a duet, 2-part choir of equal voices, or SS, SA, TB, or SB choir. Movements include: 1. O Sing a Song of Bethlehem, 2. Tomorrow Night! O Come, O Come, 3. Ex Amore Victoria, 4. Wonderful! is in the Stable, 5. Joy to the World. Everything you need to mount a church, community or school Christmas musical program with your children or adult choir (or a combination of the two) is included. The program can be staged, semi-staged or sung in concert. As of early 2017, past performances include classical vocalists in concert (with the minus video) and children’s choir (semi-staged).
